Ubud Attractions: How to Arrange a Mount Batur Jeep Sunrise
Hi, I’m Agus Angga, a local private Jeep driver in Mount Batur and part of the Book Trip Bali team. I work directly around Mount Batur, and I often meet travelers who come from Ubud for a sunrise Jeep tour. So in this article, I want to share my experience handling my clients and explain how I usually help them arrange their Mount Batur Jeep Sunrise experience. so here you connect with real local bali tour community.
For me, a Mount Batur Sunrise Jeep Tour is not only about driving a Jeep to see the sunrise. Many of my clients also care about where they meet me, what Jeep they use, photography, what they want to see after sunrise, and what they want to do next. That is where having a local tour operator like Book Trip Bali can make the experience easier.
Where Can My Clients Meet Me?
One of the first questions my clients usually ask is: “Where should we meet the Jeep driver?” Actually, there is no single meeting point that works for everyone. Because I work locally around Mount Batur, I can coordinate with Book Trip Bali and arrange the meeting point based on what my clients want to do.
Meet at My Jeep Office
Some clients prefer to meet at the Jeep operator’s office. This is a good option if you want somewhere to prepare before the sunrise. Depending on the arrangement, you may be able to get:
- Warm tea
- Jacket rental
- A short break
- Campfire
For early-morning tours, especially when the weather is cold, having somewhere to warm up can be useful.
Meet at an Aesthetic Café
Some of my clients come to Bali specifically for beautiful photographs. For these clients, meeting at an aesthetic café can be a better choice.
For example: Meet at an aesthetic café → Mount Batur Sunrise → Continue the itinerary, The café can become part of the experience rather than simply a waiting point. Book Trip Bali can coordinate with me so the meeting time works with the rest of the itinerary.
Meet Near Batur Natural Hot Spring
Other clients tell me:
“After the sunrise, we want to go to the hot spring.”
In this situation, meeting near Batur Natural Hot Spring can make the itinerary easier. For example:
Sunrise → Black Lava → Batur Natural Hot Spring → Lunch
Instead of going back and forth, the itinerary can be planned around what the client wants to do.
Which Mount Batur Jeep Trip Should You Choose?
I normally explain the Jeep experience to my clients in three options.
| Trip | Itinerary | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Short Trip | Sunrise → Return to meeting point | Sunrise experience |
| Medium Trip | Sunrise → Black Lava or Black Sand → Meeting point | Sunrise + extra scenery |
| Long Trip | Sunrise → Black Lava → Black Sand → Meeting point | More exploration & photos |
Short Trip
The Short Trip is for clients who mainly want to experience the sunrise. After sunrise and photography, we return to the meeting point.
Medium Trip
The Medium Trip adds either Black Lava or Black Sand after sunrise. This is a popular choice for travelers who want more scenery without making the tour too long.
Long Trip
The Long Trip includes: Sunrise → Black Lava → Black Sand → Meeting Point. I usually recommend this option for clients who want more time to explore and take photographs.
I Can Help With Your Photography
Many of my clients are not only interested in seeing Mount Batur. They want good photos. Before the tour, Book Trip Bali can tell me that photography is important to the client. So I know that I should help look for suitable photo opportunities during the trip.
We can focus on:
- Sunrise photos
- Couple photos
- Mount Batur landscapes
- Black Lava
- Black Sand
- Instagrammable locations
Of course, the exact photo opportunities depend on weather, crowds and local conditions. But knowing what my clients want before we start makes it much easier for me to help.
My Clients Can Know Their Actual Jeep and Driver
Another question I often get is: “Which Jeep will we use?” I understand why this matters. Travelers want to know what vehicle they are actually getting, especially when comfort and photography are important. As the local Jeep driver, I can coordinate with Book Trip Bali so the client can receive information about the actual Jeep and driver before the tour when available. This is one of the benefits of having a local person involved instead of simply receiving an activity voucher.
My Experience With Clients From Ubud
Every client has different priorities. Some want to see only the sunrise. Some want as many photographs as possible. Some want Black Lava and Black Sand. Others want to finish the Jeep tour and immediately relax at the hot spring. For example, I may receive a request like: “We are staying in Ubud. We want sunrise, beautiful photos, Black Lava and then a hot spring.” . Instead of treating those as separate bookings, Book Trip Bali and I can coordinate the experience together.
Ubud → Mount Batur Sunrise → Black Lava → Hot Spring → Lunch
That is what I like about working as part of the Book Trip Bali team.
A Small Welcome From Us
Because the Jeep tour starts very early, we also prepare simple refreshments for clients depending on the arrangement. This can include:
- Bottled water
- Chocolate
- Banana
- Simple snacks
It is a small thing, but after waking up early for sunrise, sometimes a simple snack is exactly what you need.
Why Book With a Local Team?

Do I want Black Lava or Black Sand?
Do I want to relax at the hot spring afterward?
